Your company, in your own words
- A company account is free
- Every listing checked against FMCSA
- Rankings are never for sale
Two ways in
Which one depends on whether we've already researched your company.
We already have a page for your company
We research car shipping companies from FMCSA records and their own published terms, and we publish what we find whether a company asks us to or not. If yours is in the directory, claim it and you can write your own description on it.
We haven't heard of you yet
Tell us your USDOT number. We check it against the FMCSA Company Census File while you fill the form in — active registration, active operating authority, and a carrier or broker classification — and a person reads every request before a page goes up.
What a free account gives you
Your own words on your page
A description, contact notes, a booking link and the services we haven't listed. Published under a heading saying it came from you, after a read by our team.
Requests customers chose to send you
A customer comparing companies picks who may contact them. The ones who pick you arrive with their route, vehicle, dates and consent — not a form sold to fifteen brokers.
Replies to your reviews
Answer a review on your page in public. A reply never edits, hides or rescores one, and answering a hard review well reads better than silence.
A balance that shows its working
Every request is priced and listed, so you can see what a lead would cost before anyone is charged for one.
Control over what reaches you
Choose where requests are emailed, and switch them off while you're full. Customers stop being offered your company rather than picking you and hearing nothing back.
Nothing to pay
A company account is free and stays free. Leads, placements and content are bought separately, and only if you want them.
What no amount of money buys here
Every company we list gets the same answer to these, including the ones paying us.
- Your Haulwide Score. It follows a published methodology and no account setting or payment moves it.
- Your position in Best Companies or any other editorial ranking. Rankings are never for sale.
- A published review, or its rating. We don't remove reviews for money, and we never have.
- The outcome of a Scam Watch report or a complaint about your company.
- A verification badge. That comes from your FMCSA record being current, not from a plan.
Paid products exist — leads a customer chose to share, labelled placements, sponsored content. They are separate from anything editorial, and we publish how each one works.
How it goes
Create a company account
Your name, your company, an email and a password. It takes a minute and costs nothing.
Claim or ask to be listed
Claim the page we already researched, or send your USDOT number and let the FMCSA check run.
A person checks it
We confirm you represent the company, and for a new listing we check your authority and insurance ourselves.
Write your side of the page
Your description, your contact notes, your booking link. We read it, then it appears labelled as yours.
Questions companies ask us
What does a company account cost?
Nothing. Claiming your page, writing your description, replying to reviews and receiving the requests customers send you are all free. Paid plans add software — analytics, targeting, seats and a monthly lead credit — and they are optional.
How we make moneyCan I pay to rank higher?
No. Not on Best Companies, not on a state or route page, not anywhere. Paid placement exists but is labelled wherever it appears, and it sits beside editorial rankings rather than inside them.
How we rank companiesCan I have a bad review taken down?
Not for money, and not for asking. A review that breaks our rules — no shipment behind it, abuse, or something that identifies a person — is removed when we check it and find that. Otherwise the answer is to reply to it, which your account lets you do.
Our review policyWhy is my company on Haulwide without my permission?
We publish what public records say about car shipping companies, the same way any directory or trade publication does. If something on your page is wrong, tell us and we correct it — and claiming the page lets you add your own side of it.
Our editorial policyDo you sell my details, or resell the same lead to everyone?
No. A customer chooses which companies may contact them, and a request goes only to the companies they picked. We don't buy lead lists and we don't sell yours.
What do you check before adding a company?
That FMCSA has the USDOT number on file with active registration, that there's active operating authority to broker or haul, and that the classification is carrier or broker. A person then confirms the insurance and that it's a real car shipping operation.
