1. Who covers your vehicle
A broker's bond protects against a broker failing to meet its financial obligations. It isn't insurance for damage to your vehicle; damage claims go to the carrier's cargo insurance.
2. Haulwide's role
Haulwide is not an insurer and doesn't decide claims. We check that Providers have insurance on file, show you what to ask before booking and help you contact the Provider if you have a problem.
3. What's usually covered and excluded
| Usually covered | Usually excluded |
|---|---|
| Damage caused by the carrier's negligence while loading, in transit or unloading | Personal items left in the vehicle |
| Damage from accidents involving the truck | Pre-existing damage recorded at pickup |
| Theft of the vehicle while in the carrier's care | Mechanical or electrical failures not caused by the carrier |
| Minor road debris or weather effects on open trailers, depending on the policy |
