Free to use, no obligation to book. Prices are estimates until a carrier confirms. How we make money

A plain-language summary. The full text below is what applies.

  • Pickup and delivery dates are estimated windows unless your booking guarantees a date in writing.
  • Your price can change if the vehicle details you gave were inaccurate.
  • Inspect the vehicle with the driver at pickup and delivery, and note any damage on the Bill of Lading before signing.
  • Personal items shouldn't be left in the vehicle and usually aren't covered by insurance.

Company details marked “To be added” will be completed before launch.

1. Scope and roles

These Shipping Terms apply when you book vehicle transport through Haulwide. They work alongside our Terms of Service and the booking confirmation from your Provider. If they conflict, your booking confirmation controls for that shipment.

  • You (the customer)

    Role
Give accurate details, prepare the vehicle and be available at pickup and delivery
  • Broker

    Role
Arranges your shipment with a licensed carrier; must hold FMCSA broker authority and a $75,000 bond
  • Carrier

    Role
Physically transports the vehicle and carries liability and cargo insurance
  • Haulwide

    Role
Helps you compare and book Providers; does not transport vehicles

2. Vehicle and shipment details

Your price and carrier assignment depend on the information you give. Tell us accurately about the vehicle's year, make, model, size, modifications (such as lift kits, oversized tires or roof racks) and whether it runs, steers and brakes.

3. Pickup and delivery windows

Pickup and delivery dates are estimates given as windows. Weather, road conditions, mechanical issues, hours-of-service rules and other stops on the route can cause delays. A specific date is guaranteed only when your booking says so in writing, which may cost extra.

4. Preparing the vehicle

  • Remove personal belongings, toll tags and aftermarket accessories that could come loose
  • Leave about a quarter tank of fuel
  • Disable alarms or tell the driver how to turn them off
  • Fix fluid leaks; drivers may refuse leaking vehicles
  • Provide a working key for ignition, doors and trunk

Hazardous materials, weapons, illegal items and loose cargo are never allowed in a shipped vehicle.

5. Inspections and the Bill of Lading

You or someone you authorize, aged 18 or over, must be present at pickup and delivery. If nobody is available at delivery, the Provider may reschedule or move the vehicle to a secure location, and storage or redelivery fees may apply.

6. Payment

Your booking confirmation shows the total price, any deposit or booking fee, when each part is due and accepted payment methods. Many carriers collect the balance at delivery by cash, certified check or another method stated in the booking. Never pay by wire transfer or gift card to anyone who contacts you outside the booking.

7. Damage and claims

Carriers are responsible for damage they cause in transit, up to their cargo insurance limits and subject to their exclusions. Claims are made against the carrier; note damage on the Bill of Lading at delivery, photograph it and report it promptly.

8. Cancellations

Whether you can cancel and receive a refund depends on the stage of your shipment.

9. Events beyond anyone's control

Neither Haulwide nor the Provider is responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, road closures, government action or public emergencies.

10. Contact us

Questions about a shipment or these terms? Contact us with your booking reference.

  • Is my pickup date guaranteed?

Only if your booking confirmation guarantees a date in writing. Otherwise dates are estimated windows.

  • Can I leave belongings in the car?

It's best not to. Carriers usually don't allow them, and they aren't covered by cargo insurance.

  • What if I can't be there at delivery?

Name an adult to receive the car. If nobody is available, redelivery or storage fees may apply.
