Car shipping coverage across the U.S.
Carriers move cars along a network of interstate corridors. Routes that follow these highways, like I-10, I-40, I-80 and I-95, have more trucks and shorter pickup windows.
- Direction matters: A to B and B to A are priced separately.
- Longer routes cost more in total but less per mile.
- Busy interstate corridors are faster to schedule than rural routes.
- Seasonal routes (snowbird, college, summer moves) fill up early.

Car shipping route FAQs
Does the direction of a route change the price?
Often, yes. Shipping from California to Texas can cost a different amount than Texas to California, because demand and truck space are rarely the same in both directions.
Why do short routes cost more per mile?
Every shipment has fixed costs for dispatch, loading and unloading. On a short trip those costs are spread over fewer miles, so the price per mile is higher even though the total is lower.
Car shipping cost per mileCan I ship a car between any two cities?
Yes. Carriers serve all 48 contiguous states, and routes to Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico include an ocean leg. Busy corridors are simply faster to schedule than remote ones.
How long does a cross-country route take?
Coast-to-coast routes usually take about 7–10 days in transit after pickup, depending on weather, the carrier's other stops and daily driving limits.
How long car shipping takesHow are route prices on Haulwide estimated?
Route estimates come from quoted, booked and paid prices on similar shipments, adjusted for distance, vehicle, transport type and season. They stay estimates until a carrier confirms your booking.
How Haulwide worksHow can I get a lower price on my route?
Give the carrier a flexible pickup window, choose open transport, avoid peak summer weeks and consider a pickup point near a major highway.
