You can remove your name and address first if you prefer — we only need the terms.
Your document is read once and then discarded. We don't store it, we don't keep a copy, and nothing about it is attached to you.
What this looks for
- Whether the price is fixed or an estimate that can change
- The deposit: how much, when, and whether it comes back
- What cancelling costs, and up to when
- Whether the pickup date is a guarantee or a window
- Whether you are contracting with a broker or the carrier
- The insurance that covers your car, and the deductible
- How long you have to report damage
It also lists the terms your document does not cover, because an absent cancellation clause is worth knowing about before you pay rather than after.
Haulwide does not move vehicles and no company can pay for placement here. How we work.
Questions about this check
Do you keep my contract?
No. It is read once and discarded. Nothing is written to a database or a file, nothing is attached to you, and nothing about it is logged. If you upload a PDF, the text is pulled out in your browser and only that text is sent.
Will you tell me if the company is a scam?
No, and be wary of anything that claims to. This reads your paperwork and tells you what you are agreeing to. Whether a company is any good is a separate question, best answered by its federal licensing record and its review history.
Check the companyIs a deposit or a cancellation fee a red flag?
Not on its own. Both are ordinary in this industry. What matters is whether you knew about them, what triggers them, and whether the price you were quoted can change after you have paid.
My contract says the price may change. Is that normal?
It is common, because most car shipping quotes are estimates rather than binding prices: the final figure is settled when a carrier accepts the load. It is worth knowing before you pay a deposit rather than after.
Check whether your quote is reasonableHow long do I have to report damage?
For an interstate move, a carrier cannot give you less than nine months to file a claim (49 U.S.C. 14706). Your photographs from pickup are what prove when the damage happened.
